Last week we went on our annual vacation get away to the Poconos... This year we dragged Dad along... well this involved leaving Tuesday, a day early and running to Maryland to fix/finish the lights we started to put up in my aunt's kitchen... We hit the road around noon-ish... suddenly decided to take the "scenic" route which, while the mileage is almost the same, the time is TWICE as long... BUT we got to ride a ferry between NJ and DE, it was a nice experience... We FINALLY got to MD and got the lights fixed/finished/working, had some dinner and hit the sack... The next day we had a late start getting on our way to PA from MD... First we had to stop and spend some time w/my g'ma (she's home on hospice care, still not eating very much at all and moans alot as if in pain/discomfort but she does get up and dress and then sit up in a chair most of the day)... Finally we started the final trek to PA at about 7pm... well once again we ended up taking the "scenic" route... *sigh* it was after 10:30 before we finally arrived... there goes one day of our vacation - gone... But still we had a nice drive... Now for 3 days of fun and relaxation - yeah RIGHT!!! *sigh* My dad misunderstands, doesn't "buy" that Deven is bipolar/ADHD and thinks he's just a spoiled brat needing more discipline... *sigh* we had a few hairy moments but over all it was nice... we went swimming, played miniture golf, hung out at the arcade, borrowed monopoly and boggle jr to play at the villa and the boys even participated in an obstacle course where each "won" a ribbon... over all it was a VERY nice time... WE even managed to run an errand or two for Dad.... I really enjoyed sitting and watching the golfers pass by and joking about the ball washing machine... We sat for a bit and looked at the mountains with all the lovely and bright foliage that is just starting to change - such vibrant colors - I even spotted some interesting shapes on the mountain... It's nice to be home though, stress and all.... Til next time...
